Home Sweet Home, since 2006
We've bought our first house! We put in an offer in late April of 2006. Our offer was accepted that day, we closed on July 5th and moved in in late July. We had some painting to do and small updates to make to the house, but we were able to do a good deal of that between the closing and move-in.
The house is a 4 bedroom, 2 bath colonial. (It's a little bit of overkill for just the two of us, but we've found use for all those rooms! Plus, it means we shouldn't outgrow this house anytime soon.) It has a fireplace in the living room and a woodstove in the family room. The kitchen is newer with all new appliances. There is a sun room off the kitchen, which is surrounded by sliding doors on 3 sides -- perfect for those warm summer nights without the bugs! There's a two car garage, which will be nice in the winters. It's on a little over 0.4 acres, which is enough room for us without feeling overwhelmed by yard work. The previous owners have put in several flower beds, which I am enjoying and doing my best to keep up. It's a nice, mature lot with enough trees for privacy.
In November 2008, we completed our remodel of the upstairs bathroom. Thankfully, the mustard yellow is gone! In summer of 2009, we remodeling the family room with new carpet, removing the paneling from the walls, new paint and new furniture. Recently, we began a face lift of our downstairs bath to bring it up to date. Our future big project will be either extending the deck or adding a patio to connect the deck and the sun room. Fortunately, the house is in really great shape and doesn't need much work at all. We're grateful to have found such a wonderful home.
