Not a huge fan of the knotty pine fireplace surround, but in my mind, it's a cardinal sin to paint wood. So I'm not sure how to rectify the situation without constructing a completely new surround.

Love the wallpaper. There were three (or more!) layers there and it was a pain for DH to take down. He did a great job, though.

The only things that are new in here are the wood stove (a Jotul), the curtains (JCPenney), and the table lamp (JoAnns). Everything else is as-is when we bought the house, or hand-me-down furniture.

In summer 2009, we totally overhauled this room. The paneling came down, the carpet was replaced, new furniture was purchased and we repainted the walls. We love this comfy room now that is much more our style!
